Ambassador of India to Serbia

Abhishek Shukla joined the Indian Foreign Service in the year 2006.

His first foreign assignment was in the People’s Republic of China where he worked at the Embassy of India in Beijing from 2008 to 2013. While in Beijing, he learnt Chinese and subsequently handled the economic, trade and commercial work in the Embassy of India.

After Beijing, Abhishek Shukla was posted to the Indian High Commission in London where he served from 2013 to 2015 as First Secretary (Political). He was simultaneously the Staff Officer to the High Commissioner.

Upon returning from London, he joined as Deputy Chief of Protocol (Ceremonials) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi in Mar. 2015 where he handled the engagements between the Prime Minister of India and other foreign leaders, both in India and abroad, as well as engagements of the External Affairs Minister of India with counterparts.

Abhishek Shukla subsequently served as Consul General of India in Cape Town from 2018 to 2019. After Cape Town, he returned to India to join the Prime Minister’s Office as Director from 2019 to 2022.

Abhishek Shukla returned to China in August 2022 and after a brief stint as Head of the Political Wing in the Embassy of India, assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of Mission with effect from July 2023 till completion of his tenure in Dec. 2025.

He assumed charge in Belgrade on 8th January 2026.

Mr. Shukla is married to Mrs. Saloni Shukla and they have two sons.

Shubhdarshini Tripathi,

Ms. Shubhdarshini Tripathi joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1994. She is a Post Graduate in Science and also holds M. Phil degree from Delhi University. Her first overseas assignment was at Embassy of India, Israel where she handled political and administrative matters. She was at Headquarters from 1999 to 2002 in Administrative Division of Ministry of External Affairs. Thereafter, she was at Indian Embassy in Bhutan from 2002 to 2005 and headed the Information Wing and Administration. In 2005 she took over as First Secretary at Embassy of India, Kuala Lumpur and dealt with Political, Information & Administrative matters. In 2006, she joined Embassy of India, Paris as Counsellor and headed Political Wing till 2009. She returned to New Delhi in 2009 and joined as Director, Europe West. She served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Thimphu from 2011 to 2014 and then Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Berlin from 2014 to 2016. She served as Ambassador of India to Jordan from 2016 to 2019. She served as Deputy Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi from 2019 to May 2021. She served as Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan from May 2021 to August 2023. She assumed charge as Ambassador of India to Serbia in September 2023.
