A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in Tourism between India and the Republic of Serbia was signed on 2nd November 2004 in Belgrade during the visit of Indian Minister of State for Tourism Smt. Renuka Chowdhury who signed on behalf of the Government of India. Serbian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Services, H.E. Prof. Bojan Dimitrijevic signed for the Republic of Serbia.
With the Embassy's help, Government of India Tourist Office in Frankfurt participated in the 27th International Tourism Fair held in April 2005 in Belgrade and again in the 28th Fair in April 2006.

Serbia
Location: The Republic of Serbia is located in south East Europe, in the central part of the Balkan peninsula, at the intersection of the Pan European Corridors 10 and 7, on the way from Europe to Asia.
Area: Total land area of Serbia is 88,361 sq. km.
Population: The population of Serbia, according to mid-2002 census, is 7, 898, 000. The population density is 111 inhabitants per square km.
Capital: Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. With a population of about 1.7 million, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of Serbia and the administrative seat of Serbia.
Currency: Serbian currency is the Dinar, divided into 100 paras.
Airports: Belgrade and Nis (250 km southeast of Belgrade) are the main airports which receive international flights. Belgrade airport has daily connections to all major cities and airports in Europe. There are 19 other smaller airports.
