Visit of Smt. Preneet Kaur, Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs of India to the Republic of Serbia (Nov 18, 2013)

Smt. Preneet Kaur, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs of India is arriving Belgrade today on a four-day visit to the Republic of Serbia from 18-21 November 2013. During the visit, the Hon’ble Minister is expected to meet with H.E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic, Prime Minister of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Ivan Mrkic, Foreign Minister of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Sasa Radulovic, Minister of Economy of Serbia and other dignitaries of the Government of Serbia.

Two agreements on: i) 99-year lease of the Residence of the Indian Ambassador, and ii) India-Serbia Agreement on Serbia’s Accession to WTO are expected to be signed during the Hon’ble Minister’s visit.

Hon’ble Minister will also undertake a visit to IT Park in Indjija, being developed by Embassy Group, an Indian company.

India enjoys historical and warm relations with Belgrade since the founding of Non-aligned Movement (NAM). The year 2013 signifies 65 years of diplomatic relations. India has consistently supported Serbia on the issue of Kosovo. At a bilateral level, the two countries conduct their relations through Agreements in the fields of economy, commerce, tourism, agriculture, Science & Technology, etc. 

During the visit, the India-Serbia bilateral relations are expected to be elevated to a new level.
