Visit of Indian Kathak Dance Troupe to Serbia

Embassy of India, Belgrade, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi, is pleased to announce the visit a six member Kathak Dance Group, led by Ms. Rujuta Soman Amogh to Serbia from 20th to 26th May 2014. The dance group will perform in Belgrade and other major cities of Serbia from 20th to 26th May 2014.

Kathak Dance Group is from the Rujuta Soman Cultural Academy, India which gives training in pure classical Kathak with the aim of extending the boundaries of Indian traditional dance and creating a new benchmark in the aesthetics of presentation by using state-of-the-art technology and innovative dance techniques. The group has performed in different prestigious centres of the world including the Konark Festival (Orissa, India), International Folk Arts Festival (Nanning, China), Germany, the UK and France. The visit of the troupe has been organised to further enhance and deepen the cultural contacts between India and Serbia and would present a golden opportunity for the Serbian public to view one of the most popular dance forms of India.
