The film ‘Court’ explores the Indian judiciary system through a court case where a folk singer is tried for abetting the suicide of a manhole worker with his inflammatory song. The film had received the Hubert Bals fund for script and project development in 2012. Before dabbling in this court room drama, Tamhane had made a short film called ‘Six Strands’, which was screened at several film festivals like Edinburgh, Rotterdam and Slamdance.
