Ambassador of India calls on Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia

Ambassador of India to Serbia Mrs. Narinder Chauhan called on H.E. Mr. Vanja Udovicic, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia on 22nd December, 2017 to extend invitation of the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge), Government of India, for participation as a guest of honour in the opening ceremony of “1st Khelo India National School Games” scheduled to be held at Delhi, from 31st January to 8th February, 2018.

The meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of Sports and traditionally good & friendly bilateral relations between the two historic countries, as well as the importance of further enhancing cooperation at all levels.

Minister Udovicic accepted in principle the invitation of Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and showed interest to visit India soon. It was also agreed to develop a detailed programme of cooperation in youth affairs and sports to enhance interaction among the youth of both countries. Serbian sports teams regularly visit India to participate in tournaments. Recently, an all women Indian boxing team lifted the best team trophy at 7th Nations Tournament in Sombor.
