The Embassy of India, Belgrade, is pleased to announce that the following Indian feature films will be screened at the Mission’s Chancery premises at Djordja Radojlovića 7A, Dedinje, Belgrade:

The film “KATHA DON GANPATRAVANCHI” / A Tale of Two Ganpatraos ( Marathi / 1996 / 128 minutes ), directed by Arun Khopkar, and starring Mohan Agashe & Dilip Prabhavalkar, will be screened on Friday, 14th March 2014, at 17.30 hrs. The film has English subtitles.

The film “JAB WE MET” / When We Met ( Hindi / 2007 / 142 minutes ), directed by Imtiaz Ali, and starring Shahid Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor, will be screened on Saturday, 15th March 2014, at 17.30 hrs. The film has English subtitles.

KATHA DON GANPATRAVANCHI ( A Tale of Two Ganpatraos )

Two bachelors, Ganpatrao Turay-Patil and Ganpatrao Moray-Patil, temperamentally and physically opposites, but inseparable friends from childhood, live as neighbors in their ancestral homes in the small town of Akkadgaon.

The best of friends' fallout over a beautiful old sword that Moray possesses and Turay covets. A small tiff snowballs into a major fight, and all attempts by well-wishers to bring the pair together again fail. The machinations of Moray's ferocious aunt and the good-for-nothing goons of the town who exploit the situation only adds fuel to the flames. The dispute is taken to the courts. In the end, the two friends are ruined while the goons run a thriving business enterprise.

As Aditya saves her from one sticky situation, she promptly lands into another! They travel from Mumbai to Bhatinda to Shimla, but every journey has to end, and so does theirs. As they both seek their ultimate destination, the niggling question tantalizes – is this really the end of their journey together or a new beginning?
