  Ambassador of India calls on Minister of Public Administration and Local Self Government of Serbia

           Ambassador of India to Serbia Mrs. Narinder Chauhan called on Mr. Branko Ruzic, the newly appointed Minister of Public Administration and Local Self Government of Serbia on 1st August 2017 to discuss ongoing ITEC programme and new areas of collaboration.

           Minister Ruzic impressed upon the importance of training to Serbian civil servants and said that strengthening of cooperation with India was important as it has projects for increasing capacities and improving various skills. He said that professionalism and efficient civil servants are the key to success in the implementation of public administration reforms. Ambassador emphasized that India is willing to extend assistance to Serbia in different fields and offered ITEC courses to Serbian civil servants. The ITEC programme is fully funded by the Government of India and all expenses related to training programme such as course fees, living allowance, book allowance, study tours, emergency medical assistance as well as return air fares are borne by the Government of India.

           Serbia has been India’s ITEC partner since 2008 and so far more than 140 scholars from Serbia have been imparted training on a wide and diverse range of skills and disciplines, including in ICT, Expenditure Management, Entrepreneurship, WTO, Banking & Finance, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Legislative Drafting, Yoga, English proficiency, etc. Scholars who have undergone training under ITEC come from various fields of Serbian society, including both from Government and private sector.  The Serbian institutions have shown a great interest and enthusiasm towards ITEC training courses and the feedback received from the trainees is encouraging.
