Keynote address by Indian Ambassador at the “Digital 2017 Conference”

H.E. Mrs. Narinder Chauhan, Ambassador of India, delivered a keynote address at the “Digital 2017 – Regional Conference on trends in telecommunications and media” organized by Color Communications on September 7, 2017 in Belgrade.

          Ambassador presented to the Serbian businesses the flagship programmes launched by the Government of India in the fields of information technology, manufacturing, real estate, services etc.with special reference to ‘Digital India’ & ‘Smart City projects’, ‘Skill India programme and discussed the opportunities available for the Serbian and regional businesses especially regarding the “Digital India” programme and other government initiatives. She also presented the ways and means for joint collaboration of Indian and Serbian businesses in different sectors of economy.

          India & Serbia have entered into a bilateral MOU on IT & Electronics under which the joint Committee headed by Ms. Tatjana Matic, State Secretary for trade, tourism & telecommunications had its first meeting recently. Both sides are in the process of identifying joint projects given that digitalization is a major priority of the Serbian government as well.

          In this connection, it is relevant to mention that an Indian Company has created an IT Park in Indjija, Serbia, the most super intelligent building in the country. Further, there is frequent exchange of IT personnel for experience sharing&for IT & business solutions.
