Serbian participation in World Food India 2017, New Delhi
(November 3-5, 2017)

H.E. Mr. Branislav Nedimovic, Serbian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry & Water Management of the Republic of Serbia is leading a delegation comprising representatives from Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Water Management, Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia, Development Agency of Serbia and 10 top Serbian agro-processing companies to World Food India 2017 from 3-5 November 2017 in New Delhi. 

Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia is setting up a 126 m2 stall (Hangar F, C-Hexagon Park, India Gate, New Delhi) at the fair where following Serbian companies will be presenting their products: ITN Group, Yumis, All Berries, Mirax Agrar, Bambi Concern,  Elixir Food,  Lucic Group, Sirogojno Compnay, Agranela, Maize Research Institute “Zemun Polje”

During his visit to India, Minister Nedimovic will hold bilateral meetings with Ms. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Indian Minister of Food Processing Industries and Mr. Radha Mohan Singh, Minister of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare. He will also visit TAFE’s tractor manufacturing facilities in Madurai.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The Indian food processing industry has grown by 11% in the last decade and is expected to reach $480 billion by 2020.  The 'World Food India-2017' is a global event to facilitate partnerships between Indian and international businesses and investors, it is a gateway to the Indian food economy and an opportunity to showcase, connect, and collaborate. Organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries of India, WFI will be the largest gathering of investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, policy makers, and organizations from the global food ecosystem.

        Agriculture, agri-machinery and food processing is high on India-Serbia bilateral commercial agenda and was taken up at the highest level during the visit of Hon’ble Aleksandar Vucic to India for Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January 2017 as well as during the 3rd meeting of Joint Economic Committee (March 2017) and 1st Joint Commission Meeting on Agriculture (Nov 2016). Through this vibrant platform, Serbian companies will be able to promote full capacities and potentials of their products to Indian as well as international businesses. Ahead of the visit, Minister Nedimovic announced negotiations with Indian companies for manufacturing of Tractors in Serbia under Serbian brand IMT. Experts on both sides are also negotiating agreement on phytosanitary cooperation.
