India is witnessing all-round transformation and different sectors of the economy have become vibrant.

India is currently the world’s second-largest telecommunications market with a subscriber base of 1.2 billion and has registered strong growth in the past decade and half. India is also the second largest country in terms of internet subscribers. The country is now the world’s second largest smartphone market and will have almost one billion unique mobile subscribers by 2020. The Indian mobile economy is growing rapidly and will contribute substantially to India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). India’s telecommunications market is expected to experience further growth, fuelled by increased non-voice revenues and higher penetration in rural market. The emergence of an affluent middle class is triggering demand for the mobile and internet segments. The liberal and reformist policies of the Government of India have been instrumental along with strong consumer demand in the rapid growth in the Indian telecom sector.
