Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaign

Department of Posts of India is organising a “Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaign” for the Indian diaspora. The Campaign is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s “Amar Desher Mati” and its theme is ‘Letter to my motherland’. The campaign will have two categories viz. up to 18 years and above 18 years. The letter is to be handwritten in English or Hindi or in any of the official languages mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. The Letter must be written only on a plain A-4 size paper with a word limit not exceeding 1000 words.

The entries are to be sent to Assistant Director General (Philately), Department of Posts, Room No. 108, Dak Bhawan, Sansad Marg, New Delhi-110001. The entries are open and will be accepted till 31.10.2018. A scanned copy of the entry may be submitted on MyGov portal by 31.10.2018 but it is compulsory that a hard copy of the letter bearing dispatch postmark of not later than 31.10.2018 be sent by post.

All non-resident Indians and persons of Indian origin can participate in the Campaign. The participants need to give a certificate of age on the letter such as “I certify that I am below / above the age of 18 as on 1.1.2018” along with one copy of proof of their date of birth. The top three letters in each category will be awarded following prizes:
